They do say that all good things must come to an end, but this ending is particularly bittersweet.
A few weeks ago Susie Elelman announced that she was finishing up her iconic Midnight to Dawn shift on Saturday mornings. I’ve been in studio with Susie from 3am to 4am for the past 18 months and loved every minute of it. The discussions, the calls from listeners, and the giveaways have made every hour an absolute treat.
Before Susie took me under her wing I was appearing with Glenn Wheeler for a short 15 minute guest spot, and since then I’ve evolved and developed into the radio host I am today because of Susie’s encouragement and worldly advice. I can’t thank Susie enough for providing the opportunity to own that hour each Saturday morning.
It is only because of this learning curve and on-the-job experience that I can announce that I will be starting my new on-air spot on 2UE this weekend, taking Ritchie’s Room to the new time of 4pm to 5pm on Sunday afternoons. This is an incredible opportunity and I’m humbled and excited to be able to take the show to a daytime audience (and reclaim my early morning weekend sleep cycle!).
I’ll have a new co-host, soon to be announced, and some great sponsors coming on board as well. In meantime, here is the podcast of our last show together from a few days ago. Susie, thanks for everything!
